Seeding Frontier
Technology From
Unexpected
Places

We are building deep-tech learning and execution clusters across underserved communities, starting from Ogbomoso. Our engine is a 4-month fellowship exploring quantum computing and advanced technologies.

Our Conviction

What makes
HeGUTTS different

World-class technical thinking should not be a location privilege. Sadly, it is. Too much frontier knowledge sits in a few big cities, a few labs, and a few elite networks.

We are convinced that capability can be developed anywhere when people have structure, exposure, and a serious learning community. The HeGUTTS Fellowship is how we act on that conviction. It is a focused 4-month program that brings together visionary and high-potential minds in Ogbomoso, trains them in frontier technologies, and forms the nucleus of a long-term deep tech ecosystem.

Students learning advanced technology

Decentralised Exposure

We introduce high-potential minds in underserved communities to advanced fields like quantum computing through an open-source but disciplined learning framework.

Community collaboration and networking

Community as Infrastructure

We build peer networks and mentorship circles that function as intellectual infrastructure, even before physical labs.

Building grassroots tech ecosystem

Grassroots Cluster-Building by Design

This is not a one-off program. We are deliberately forming the nucleus of a long-term grass roots deep tech ecosystem that can grow, replicate, and attract partners.

Origins

The story behind HeGUTTS

“He Gives Understanding to the Simple”

HeGUTTS was born from Seun Adepoyu's personal philosophy: “He Gives Understanding to the Simple.” Our story ties together in the three cardinal parts of our foundational statement:

  • “He” – God, the source of understanding, the guiding intelligence that makes complex ideas accessible.
  • “Gives Understanding” – the power to make the complex simple, to see patterns, and to gain mastery. In our work, this is what the fellowship does: it opens doors into frontier technologies that often feel unreachable.
  • “The Simple” – our target community. The often overlooked or underestimated. People with potential, curiosity, and grit who haven't yet had access to the resources, mentorship, or networks to realise their capability.

What fellows and mentors are saying

HeGUTTS turned quantum computing from something distant and abstract into a field I could genuinely understand, giving me strong foundations, clarity, and the confidence to think beyond classical limits. The community, exposure, and intellectual environment accelerated my growth, leading to opportunities like Hack The Horizon and joining the Quantum Device Consortium maintainers group.

Fellow, Cohort One

HeGUTTS reshaped my perception of quantum computing from an intimidating academic subject into something practical, learnable, and within reach, giving me the confidence that I can truly build in this space. Beyond the knowledge, the fellowship opened doors to meaningful connections, hands-on experiences, and an opportunity to join the Africa Quantum Consortium operations team.

Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about HeGUTTS, the application process, and what comes next.

Any curious, motivated individual from Ogbomoso or surrounding underserved communities who wants to explore frontier technologies like quantum computing and AI.

The fellowship runs for four months. Fellows are expected to attend weekly sessions, complete assignments, collaborate with peers, and actively participate in projects and community activities.

No. While technical aptitude helps, what matters most is curiosity, problem-solving ability, and willingness to engage deeply. The program is designed to guide you through complex concepts regardless of your starting point.

You will gain exposure to frontier technologies, develop problem-solving skills, collaborate on real-world projects, and learn directly from researchers and practitioners shaping the field.

No. The fellowship is fully accessible to selected participants. We aim to remove financial barriers for high-potential individuals.

Fellows work on capstone projects or group challenges that apply frontier tech concepts to real-world problems, often with a focus on impact for local communities.

You'll join the HeGUTTS network, continue to engage in the community, access mentorship opportunities, and build a portfolio of work that demonstrates your capabilities in advanced technology.

Applications open online through our website. Selection is based on curiosity, grit, and potential, not prior experience or credentials.

The fellowship combines weekly virtual and in-person learning, peer collaboration, mentorship, and guided project work to form a rigorous but supportive learning environment.

While the program itself does not guarantee employment, it builds the skills, portfolio, and network that make fellows highly competitive for roles in technology, research, and innovation.
